CrimeAtlasUSA presents the FBI's reported-crime figures — nothing more and nothing less. For a city, county or state you get the number of reported violent and property offenses, converted to a rate per 100,000 residents so places of different sizes can be compared, and the trend over more than a decade. Every page also shows how complete the reporting was, because a low number can just mean agencies didn't submit data. We describe what was reported; we never label a place "safe" or "dangerous".
